South Eugene residents may have noticed a large hole spraying water on Willamette Street near 30th Avenue late in the evening Dec. 9. Here's what happened according to officials with the city and the water & electric utility.

A burst EWEB water main created the hole. According to Aaron Orlowski, spokesperson for EWEB, the water main along East 30th Avenue has experienced three breaks in the last couple weeks.
