Michael Duarte ‘s official cause of death has been revealed.

The food influencer, known online as FoodWithBearHands , passed away in early November, and his family initially reported it as a “horrible incident” without providing further details.

Now, we know that he died from a gunshot wound, and his death was officially ruled a homicide by Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, per People.

He was reportedly shot in an a confrontation with police on November 8 and pronounced dead at a hospital in San Antonio. The full autopsy results are still pending, per the report.

The Medina County Sheriff’s Office previously confirmed they got a 911 call around 11:28 a.m. on November 8 “regarding a disturbance involving a male subject with a knife acting erratically.”
