SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Former KY3 News anchor and the decades-long PR director for Silver Dollar City, Lisa Rau, has died.

Rau died on Thursday. She was 64.

Rau began her career at KY3 in 1984. She started as a weather forecaster. She then became a field reporter. Rau broke several investigative stories, including a groundbreaking series on chicken farms in the Ozarks. She later became an anchor on KY3 News.

A call from Silver Dollar City founder Pete Herschend changed her career in 1989. She turned to publicity, becoming PR director for the Branson attraction. She held that position for more than three decades, helping turn the park into an internationally-awarded success.
