A thick layer of toxic smog shrouded Delhi-NCR on Thursday (December 11) morning, with several major locations witnessing severely reduced visibility and deteriorating air quality. The city's overall AQI stood at 281.

Near AIIMS, commuters navigated through a hazy morning as the AQI touched 226, placing the air quality in the 'poor' category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Iconic landmarks weren't spared either. At India Gate and Kartavya Path, a dense blanket of smog engulfed the stretch, pushing the AQI to 309, firmly in the 'very poor' category.

In east Delhi, areas including Ghazipur, Akshardham, and Anand Vihar recorded AQI levels of 302, all marked 'very poor', with thick smog visibly settling over roads and residential clusters.
