Thanks to the new Supergirl trailer and its handful of shots set on Krypton, some viewers may be thinking we just got a tease for 2027's Man of Tomorrow and its confirmed villain, Brainiac, due to his connections to Krypton's destruction. However, the new DCU trailer is actually teasing a very different event during Krypton's fall.

Unlike James Gunn's Superman , 2026's Supergirl from director Craig Gillespie will largely be set among the stars as Kara Zor-El travels the galaxy, helping a young girl named Ruthye on her quest for "vengeance and justice." However, the new Supergirl trailer also confirms the movie will explore Supergirl's tragic Kryptonian origins, but no ties to Brainiac (at least not yet).
