Five years ago, the future of Star Wars , and Lucasfilm as a whole, looked extremely promising. Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy announced a staggering 13 projects at Disney's Investor Day in 2020 , including television series like Andor and Star Wars: Visions and what would eventually become Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny . There were other projects that caught the eye, most notably Rogue Squadron with Patty Jenkins tapped to direct . It looked like Lucasfilm was about to finally branch out and deliver the stories that fans were clamoring for...but five years later, that slate has changed drastically .
