Nurses' union vote outcome won't be known until ballot dispute settled

The fate of a drive to form a union representing more than 1,500 nurses at four Des Moines metro UnityPoint hospitals will hinge on pending decisions by the National Labor Relations Board.

At issue are 251 challenged ballots out of nearly 1,800 cast in an election that began Sunday, Dec. 7 , and concluded Tuesday.
