HOLYOKE ― As inflation squeezes household budgets, Holyoke Gas & Electric hopes a little cheer — and a 10% holiday discount, about $80 — will help families keep lights and spirits bright.
The utility also is reminding customers that fuel assistance programs are available for those who need extra help this winter.
The utility’s commission recently approved the holiday discount and will apply it to December energy bills, according to a statement Wednesday from the utility.
Homeowners who heat with natural gas can save about $80 this month by combining the holiday discount with the prompt payment discount, according to the utility.
The utility has offered a holiday discount every year since 1992, the statement said.
