BELOIT, Wis. -- There is no danger to the community after a deadly shooting in Beloit Wednesday evening, police said Thursday.

The shooting was reported just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of Colony Court. A 25-year-old Beloit woman was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident and an investigation is active and ongoing.

Police did not say whether anyone was in custody in connection with the shooting. The woman's name was not released.
