UCF men’s basketball is off to its best start in years with an impressive 8-1 record, something the Knights haven’t achieved since they went 14-0 during the 2010-11 season. While coach Johnny Dawkins is pleased with the team’s early success, he still believes there is room for growth.
“I’m never satisfied,” Dawkins said on Thursday. “For me, the best start would be to go undefeated.
“I’m proud of our guys for the effort that they’ve put out and our staff for the preparation that we’ve had, but I want my guys always to understand that you’re always striving to be better.”
UCF’s only loss this season came against Vanderbilt on Nov. 8, with the Commodores ranked 16th in this week’s Associated Press top 25 poll.
