City hall is warning parents to keep e-scooters off holiday wish lists amid concerns over children riding them in London neighbourhoods.
In a statement, city officials reminded Londoners that people must be at least 16 years old to operate an electric scooter – an advisory that comes after city politicians recently voted in favour of allowing the continued use of e-scooters and power-assisted cargo bikes on city streets.

“While they can be fun to ride, e-scooters are not toys,” city officials said in a statement.
The statement also quoted Shawna Chambers, city hall’s director of climate change, environment and waste management.
