Support group for those who lost someone to suicide starts in Wood County

BOWLING GREEN — The Wood County Suicide Prevention Coalition is starting a survivor of suicide loss support group.

The first meeting set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at the National Alliance on Mental Illness Wood County, 1250 Ridgewood Dr.

The group will meet the first and third Wednesday of each month. Registration is not required.

This peer-led support group will offer a safe, understanding space for those who have lost someone to suicide, organizers said. Group members will share stories, honor loved ones, and find hope and healing in the Wood County community.

The coalition will also hold its quarterly meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 17. Suicide prevention training called Question Persuade Refer will be held at the beginning. In the QPR training, participants will learn how to recogni
