Seahawks cut ties with 1 Super Bowl champion and 1 Pro Bowler in 2 waiver moves

The Seattle Seahawks had to clear a couple of roster spots before their Week 15 game against the Indianapolis Colts .

They did it by cutting ties with one former Super Bowl champion and another former Pro Bowler.

The official roster moves came across the transaction wire Thursday afternoon: Seattle has waived Cam Akers and Shaq Griffin.

The RB Akers is a former second-round pick of the Rams back in 2020. He could latch on with another team before the end of the season.
