A person has died after an “officer-involved shooting” in Mississauga on Thursday.
The person was a suspect in a stabbing that sent one victim to the hospital in the afternoon, Peel police said in a post on social media.
Officers responded to the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Britannia Road West at 2:30 p.m., police said, adding there was an increased police presence in the area.
Hours later, police said there was an “officer-involved shooting” and the person had been pronounced dead.
The Special Investigations Unit, Ontario’s police watchdog, has been notified, police said.
