DUBLIN, Ga. — A Dublin mother is asking witnesses to come forward after a weekend shooting left her 13-year-old son and a disabled cousin injured inside their home.
Bridgett Hester said the shooting disrupted what had been a routine weekend sleepover for her tight-knit family.
"We a tight knit family. We hang together all the time on weekends. This is where they be at," Hester said.
Her son had been dropped off for what he considered a second home — a regular sleepover where he would spend time with his cousin.
"Play the game, chill out. You know what young boys like to do, play the game mostly and actually that's what he was doing, sitting in the chair playing the game," Hester said.
When she returned home, Hester received an unexpected call about the shooting.
