AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A local man is spreading holiday hope to cancer patients through handmade angel ornaments, each carrying a bell and a powerful message of encouragement.
Randy Barrs has created more than 500 ornaments this year to honor his late wife’s memory and inspire patients to complete their treatments.
“The angels I dreamed about them after Lynda’s passing. I thought it was a sign, so I started to make a few of them,” Barrs said. “The first one I made did not have the bell on them, but the bell kept coming to mind, so all of them since then have bells on them.”
Lynda Barrs was not able to ring the ceremonial bell that marks the completion of cancer treatment. She lost her battle to cancer in 2023.
