OROVILLE, Calif. — The Butte County Public Health Department received a $165,113 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The grant, aimed at enhancing bicycle and pedestrian safety, will support initiatives from October 1 through September 30, 2026.

BCPH plans to use this funding to expand educational efforts to both youth and adults, focusing on safe behaviors and driver responsibilities. "We are excited to receive this grant, which will allow us to continue the expansion of the bicycle and pedestrian safety program," said Rachel Tow, Program Supervisor of the Injury Prevention program with BCPH.
