ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A large number of local police officers will be on the lookout for impaired drivers this weekend, as departments participate in saturation patrols ahead of the holidays.
These saturation events are often funded by grants, which enable departments to pay overtime to officers on the roads watching for people driving under in the influence.
As many people enjoy the holiday season, a St. Charles County mother said it’s become a terrible time of year.
“Her life was fine, her life was good, she was happy and then she was gone,” said Jennifer Neldon. “Literally in a second she was gone, so yeah, she was murdered.”
Neldon’s daughter, Grace, 23, was killed by a drunk driver in April of 2023 while returning home to Elsberry in Lincoln County.
