The Wilkes-Barre YMCA is holding a twice-weekly program this December intended to keep Solomon-Plains Elementary students connected and active following the recent temporary school closure.

Sessions are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays until Dec. 30 at the Wilkes-Barre YMCA Henry Gym. It costs $25 a day and is open to K-8 students.

“We just try to meet what the need is, and right now, our Soloman-Plains area families are the ones that have the problem,” said Jennifer Brennan, vice president of child care education and child care services of the Greater Wyoming Valley Area YMCA. “We just try to step in and help be a solution.”
