SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Earlier this week, President Trump announced a $12 billion dollar assistance package for farmers who are struggling to overcome the effects of trade disputes going on for nearly a year.
Soybeans remain one of the most notable crops that farmers are struggling with since these tariff negotiations began.
Therefore, Trump’s aid package is certainly welcomed. However, the struggle over tariffs remains a hurdle.
“It’s hard to go to your banker and say, ‘Well, I hope I don’t lose too much this year,’ and hope for the best to come in the wind; it’s hard to do that,” Lance Perrion, an Ipswich area farmer, said.
