(KRON) -- The San Jose Police Department said officers responded to a report Wednesday evening where a man was seen brandishing a 2-foot-long machete inside a San Jose business.

SJPD said in a social media post Thursday that its Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) used a nearby public safety camera to track the scene and the machete-wielding suspect.
Thanks to RTIC updates sent to officers, police were able to quickly detain and arrest the man.

"These cameras play a critical role in dangerous incidents that are rapidly evolving," SJPD said.
It is not clear what led to the situation. No injuries were reported.
