RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -Owen Bozsic shows us a cutting board with a checkboard design of various colors.

“Purple heart, canary, let’s see purple heart, canary, wenge, and walnut,” he says of what makes the colors on the board.

He knows more than just the different kinds of wood.

At 13 he’s making a name for himself with the wooden objects he makes by hand. He’s got the equipment, and the know-how. He’s been doing this since he was ten years old.

For now, he’s making cutting and charcuterie boards which have done pretty well at local craft fairs.

“It’s a labor of love,” he says. “It is something that really takes creativity and personality to bring something like that to life.”

He says business is pretty good.
