A top Chicago Bears official has ties to the athletic department employee at the center of the downfall of Michigan's now ex-football coach Sherrone Moore, the NBC Chicago Investigative team learned.
Moore was arrested and jailed in the middle of a life meltdown Wednesday ; losing his job hours before his arrest because of what the university said was an improper relationship with an athletic department employee.
Police near Ann Arbor, Michigan responded to a call for help on Wednesday after an alleged break-in to a third-floor apartment by a man with a knife.
That man became quickly known to officers as the head football coach at nearby University of Michigan, Sherrone Moore, who was bowl-game bound until he was fired.
