ALEXANDRIA — Thursday began a new season of competition for the Bemidji High School Nordic skiing team.
The Lumberjacks were represented in the boys and girls races. The girls took fourth place with a score of 343, while the boys finished in sixth (292).
Claire Story took fourth place in the girls race with a time of 21:38.33. She was followed by Izzy Renn in seventh (22:06.62). Rylee Story (24:24.82, 23rd), Anika Harmsen (24:48.82, 26th) and Casey Story (24:55.29, 28th) rounded out the top-five finishers for the BHS girls.
Wendy Mellema (25:09.05, 31st), Chloe Derby (25:32.52, 34th), Halle Aylesworth (25:42.03, 35th) and Greer Simula (26:07.30, 42nd) also raced for the Jacks.
