CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey on Thursday announced his proposal for a pay raise for all state employees.
“In my budget for next year, for fiscal year 2027, we will have a pay raise for state employees. Period,” Morrisey said during a press conference Thursday.
“We know that the people that we’re trying to help today, these are the people that are teaching our kids, they’re fixing our roads and bridges, they’re guarding our prisons, they’re protecting us from the bad people out there, and they administer many of the programs that our citizens rely on,” he said.
Morrisey said he is not yet sure how much the pay raise would be, saying that will be finalized by his State of the State address in January.
