Allen County Council will host a meeting next week at Memorial Coliseum to hear residents’ opinions about a casino possibly coming to the Fort Wayne area.

This month, state and local officials have pitched the idea of bringing a casino to Fort Wayne. Rep. Craig Snow, R-22nd, has proposed creating a 14th casino license to the state, which could make way for a Fort Wayne gaming facility.

Mayor Sharon Tucker has testified at the Statehouse, saying the economic investment development a casino could spur is a great opportunity. The Allen County commissioners and Tucker have submitted a plan for how they would split the money from any local development agreements.

Allen County Council met Wednesday evening but did not discuss the possibility. However, they heard about it during public comment
