MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - Jim Demos, the founder of Murfreesboro’s iconic Demos’ Restaurant , died at the age of 91 Wednesday.
Demos worked in the restaurant and theater businesses for his entire career, and he founded Demos’ Restaurant in 1989 as a retirement project.
“He dreamed of this restaurant,” said current president and CEO of Demos’ Restaurant and Jim’s son Peter Demos. “It was a steak and spaghetti restaurant. When he retired from the other restaurants, he said this is what he wanted to do in his retirement.”
He opened the first location in Murfreesboro with the help of his wife Doris.
