SHELBY COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE) - A high school basketball coach is not on the job, and parents who’ve heard of the claims against the Collins High School staffer are now demanding board members act.
This all started after a former Collins student came forward on Facebook with allegations of grooming against boys basketball coach Chris Gaither.
Gaither was suspended Thursday morning for the second time this basketball season.
Now, community members just want answers and want district officials to handle the case the right way.
“I am here today because I am absolutely horrified by the way this has been handled,” said one woman at the Shelby County School Board’s meeting Thursday.
“You require transparency, or you permit secrecy,” said another.
