CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- Illinois football is preparing for the Music City Bowl in three weeks, but they took some time tonight to spread some Christmas cheer.

For the fourth straight year, Bret Bielema, his wife Jen and players teamed up with mothers and their kids to do some holiday shopping.

55 moms got a budget to get whatever they need for their children, from groceries to Christmas gifts.

Bielema said this is something he looks forward to every year and seeing how his players interact with the community.
