MUNCIE, IN — A Muncie woman convicted of stabbing a man in the chest has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Janette M. Guffey, 43, in September pleaded guilty to aggravated battery — a Level 3 felony carrying up to 16 years in prison — after negotiating a deal with prosecutors.

On Dec. 9, Delaware Circuit Court 5 Judge Thomas Cannon Jr. imposed an eight-year sentence — three years of incarceration followed by five years on probation.
