Pitkin County commissioners are considering an agreement that could secure one of the loftiest views in Aspen for a local landowner.
The agreement would allow a property owner to build a cabin on top of Aspen Mountain and access it by crossing county land. In exchange, the property owner would agree to conserve the parcel around the cabin in its natural state and allow public access along a county-maintained trail. The parcel, located high above the Aspen Music School, slightly west of Ruthie’s Run, is known as the Keno Gulch property.
