Rochester police have confirmed that a body was discovered in the rubble of fire that heavily damaged a vacant city church earlier this week.
Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department on Thursday, Dec. 11 confirmed that a body was discovered in rubble by a demolition crew working to clear debris from the scene of the church on Forbes Street.
Police are investigating - to both determine the cause of death and how the body came to be buried in the rubble. Officers did not release the name of the person whose body was found in the debris or any details about the death.
