As the temperatures begin to drop and snow begins to fall in New York, you may be wondering what temperature you should set your thermostat at during the winter months.
According to the National Weather Service , there's a 33% to 40% chance of above-average temperatures for the eastern part of New York state, which includes New York City and Long Island, the Adirondacks and the Hudson Valley, from December to February. And western and central New York have "equal chances" for normal temperatures, meaning no specific trend is favored, for that same time span.
