VANCEBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) - Two people have died in a fatal crash in Lewis County, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police say the crash was reported just after 3 p.m. Thursday at the junction of KY 9 and KY 59.

Troopers say Amber N. Cole, 40, and passenger Gary D. Cole, 39, both of Morehead, were traveling Southbound on KY 59 and failed to yield at the intersection at KY 9.

According to a preliminary investigation, this led to a collision with a Westbound commercial vehicle driven by Cody Reed, 32 of Tollesboro, Kentucky.

Both Amber and Gary Cole were pronounced dead by the Lewis County Coroner at the scene.

Reed was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
