The UK economy is estimated to have contracted slightly in the latest reporting period. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is estimated to have fallen by 0.1% in the three months leading up to October 2025.

This contraction follows a period of minimal growth in the previous months. The ONS data showed that the UK economy grew by only 0.1% in the three months to September and by 0.2% in the three months to August 2025.

The production sector was the largest driver of the economic decline. This sector recorded a significant fall of 0.5% in the three months to October 2025.
