Europe must be ready to counteract Russia as the "shadow of war" hangs over the continent, according to a government minister. Armed Forces Minister Al Carns emphasised the need for countries to "increase our lethality" and cease relying on others to do so.
His remarks comes in the wake of Nato Secretary General Mark Rutte's statement that Europe is "Russia's next target". In a speech in Berlin yesterday, he urged nations to brace themselves for a "scale of war our grandparents or great-grandparents endured".
