Former Perth and Kinross Council (PKC) leader Grant Laing has taken a swipe at his replacement for "talking down Perth" as councillors voted to approve Lock Terrace to develop 1–5 High Street into a hotel.
At a meeting of the full council on Wednesday, December 10, SNP leader Eric Drysdale told councillors Perth's "current hotel provision falls short of meeting the expectations of today’s visitors".
Cllr Laing - who resigned as SNP leader in September when he was charged with embezzlement and now sits as an Independent - called on Cllr Drysdale to apologise.
The comments were made just before councillors voted by 31 votes to six, with two abstentions to nominate Lock Terrace Ltd to develop the revised proposed Heiton hotel development at PKC's former offices and
