Former Perth and Kinross Council (PKC) leader Grant Laing has taken a swipe at his replacement for "talking down Perth" as councillors voted to approve Lock Terrace to develop 1–5 High Street into a hotel. ‌

At a meeting of the full council on Wednesday, December 10, SNP leader Eric Drysdale told councillors Perth's "current hotel provision falls short of meeting the expectations of today’s visitors". ‌

Cllr Laing - who resigned as SNP leader in September when he was charged with embezzlement and now sits as an Independent - called on Cllr Drysdale to apologise. ‌
