Cole Southern tallied a goal with two assists for Gill St. Bernard’s in its 4-1 win over Vernon at the Mennen Arena in Morristown.

Mason Filato shot the puck from behind the net as it bounced off the Gill St. Bernard’s goaltender as Vernon (0-1-1) took a 1-0 lead in the first period. It was Filato’s first career varsity goal as Mason Heilmann and Nate Kouretas each picked up an assist.

Michael Nehmer netted his first career varsity goal to tie the game for Gill St. Bernard’s (2-1) in the second period. Southern tallied an assist on the goal before scoring to take the lead for Gill St. Bernard’s. Brendan Whiteley had the assist on Southern’s go-ahead goal.
