PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to a man threatening suicide on Dec. 11.
It happened at a house on Oak Hill Road after deputies received a call regarding a man threatening suicide.
Upon arriving at the scene, the man, 52, who is unnamed in the release on Facebook, had barricaded himself alone in the house and was armed.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance, and Oak Hill Road was closed for the safety of the public.
After five hours of talking with the man, he exited the house with the firearm in his hand, before coming onto the walkway and shooting himself.
He was transported to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and was then put on a helicopter and flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment.
