High street banking is far from extinct, at least in the case of HSBC. The bank has pledged to keep all its 327 branches - including those in Merseyside - operational until at least 2027, and is also investing a hefty £55.8 million into refurbishments.
This investment, marking a 30% increase on this year's expenditure, will mean upgrades to 100 branches, the establishment of 29 Premier Centres and two Wealth Centres, as well as decorative improvements at 78 sites. At the same time, HSBC said it continues to broaden its community outreach through HSBC Local events and shared Banking Hubs across the UK.
