Actor Pauline Quirke enjoyed a long and stellar career with notable roles in Birds of A Feather and Missing as well as Emmerdale and The Bill before she quit acting after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2021. Best known for her role as Sharon Theodopolopodos alongside Linda Robson on BBC hit show Birds of A Feather, Pauline was an acclaimed theatre actor too. ‌

She founded the Pauline Quirke Academy to provide drama, musical theatre and film and TV training for young people and Scots kids have benefitted from the Glasgow branch of PQA.
