Syracuse, N.Y. — The lake effect snow that’s hit Central New York this week is expected to die down Friday for most of the region, but not for Oswego County.
Oswego County is forecast to get another 6 to 10 inches of snow today into this evening, with the highest totals in the northern part of the county, according to the National Weather Service.
And more is on the way. A second round of lake-effect snow is expected to hit the county Saturday night into Sunday. The weather service is predicting 8 to 14 additional inches in the most persistent bands, with snowfall rates reaching 2 to 3 inches per hour at times.
Light snow remains possible in Onondaga County and the rest of Central New York on Friday. Temperatures will stay cold through the weekend.
