GLUCKSTADT — The City of Gluckstadt is warning businesses to be on alert after reports of a scammer impersonating the city and using its official logo to contact local companies.
City officials said the fraudulent messages appear “official,” with some including the city seal, photos, or references to city programs. The scammer has allegedly requested payments, donations, sponsorship fees, account updates, and other financial information.
“These messages are not from the City, its employees, or any city-authorized partner,” officials said.
The city emphasized that it will never request money, gift cards, confidential financial information, or immediate action through unsolicited emails, texts, or social media messages. All legitimate city communication comes from verified @gluckstadt.net
