Hyderabad: Taking serious note of rising complaints of harassment and forced money collection, City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar on Friday cautioned transgender groups that strict action will be taken against anyone resorting to extortion.

Addressing a meeting with around 250 transgender persons at CESS, Ameerpet, the Commissioner said the police have received several grievances about groups visiting homes during auspicious occasions and demanding large sums.
