Police have urged parents to 'think carefully' before buying one particular present for their children this Christmas .

Those considering purchasing an e-scooter have been told to 'make sure they know the law' beforehand.

Staffordshire Police took to social media to warn people that misuse runs the risk of a fine, penalty points on any licence, and possible insurance issues.

The e-scooter could also be seized by officers, the force warned.
