Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has revealed she was left tossing and turning all night following Lewis Cope's heartbreaking departure from the competition.

During an appearance on BBC spin-off programme It Takes Two, Shirley confided in presenter Fleur East about the emotional burden this stage of the contest has placed on her, particularly as the remaining couples draw nearer to the finale.

When Fleur enquired about her feelings with the semi-final approaching in less than 24 hours, Shirley responded sombrely: "Well I didn't sleep yesterday, I didn't sleep when Lewis got eliminated and I probably won't sleep tonight because you never know where the show is going to go at the moment."
