ROCHESTER, Minn. – Two men have been arrested for a violent robbery early Wednesday.

The Rochester Police Department says officers responded to a reported assault outside 307 Broadway Avenue N at around 2:50 am. A victim said two men has punched, kicked, and robbed him. Police say the victim was taken to the emergency room for treatment of his injuries.

Investigators say they identified the two men as Bakil Dahir, 31 of Rochester, and Abdi Ismail, 26, homeless.

Ismail was arrested Wednesday afternoon and is facing a charge of first-degree aggravated robbery. Dahir was taken into custody early Thursday. He’s accused of first-degree aggravated robbery and fifth-degree drug possession.

Both men remain in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center as of Friday morning.
