DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A bomb squad is responding to the scene Friday morning after Duluth Police say they received a report of a bag of dynamite found in a home’s basement.
Police said officers responded around 8:40 a.m. to the area near N. 15th Ave. E. and N. 16th Ave. E. in the Endion neighborhood.
Authorities had received a report of a bag of dynamite in the basement of what’s called the Howard Friese House.
According to online records, the Howard Friese House “offers structured residential care for men facing substance use, mental health challenges, opioid dependence, gambling issues, and co-occurring disorders.”
DPD spokespeople said it’s unclear how the dynamite got in the basement.
The house was evacuated.
Police said “clients” were moved to a different location.
