Two people died on the spot, while 8 others sustained serious injuries.
Two persons died while 8 others were injured in an accident on National Highway 10, the primary lifeline connecting Sikkim with West Bengal today.
As per inputs, a Tata Sumo carrying 10 persons, including the driver, which was travelling from Sikkim towards Siliguri, skidded off the National Highway 10 and plunged nearly 500 feet down a gorge near 21st Mile, Bhuyachale, around 6:30 PM.
Two people died on the spot, while 8 others sustained serious injuries.
On being alerted, the Riyong Police, with the help of locals, rescued the injured persons and rushed them to a hospital in critical condition.
