ST. PAUL — Gov. Tim Walz announced new state efforts to address and prevent fraud on Friday, Dec. 12.

At a news conference at the Capitol on Friday, Walz named Tim O’Malley, a judge and former FBI agent, as the director of Program Integrity, a new position within Minnesota’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

He also announced that the state will be hiring third-party experts at WayPoint to assist the Statewide Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) Coordinating Council — a statewide fraud prevention program created by Walz on Sept. 17.
